Why Vote?

Election is round the corner and most of us have already made up our mind whom to vote. But there are still some of us lazing around or thinking that voting is of no use, specially the youths. Why should we waste our vote when none of the candidates are going to prove themselves useful after election? Or we would be lucky if ‘Right to Reject’ bill was not ignored last week by our so called ‘can bring some positive change personalities’ on Supreme Court. But, if we think deeper along the future, one vote does have a power to change our Nation’s upcoming days.

If we don’t vote then we are telling the politicians that we don’t care what they do. So why do we sit down with our friends and complain the system and the lacks of our country. If we don’t bother to make our voice heard why do we keep shouting about the corrupted government everyday? Voting gives us credibility and power to choose the right candidate and to choose the right leadership of the government. With that- a country prospers and hence finally follows the solutions for our problems. We cannot ignore the fact that Nepal strongly requires the right leadership. So should we sit around complaining with our friends that we don’t have proper traffic system or should we vote for the right candidate to improve it?

We as a citizens have certain duties so that we can earn the citizen’s rights. It wouldn’t be fair that we don’t fulfill our responsibilities but only creep for our rights. It would not be correct if we don’t do our job to select a right leadership but grumble about the deficiencies of governing system. The rule is simple, do something to get something.  It is obvious that politicians decide our future- making changes on banking policies- making changes on educational policies- how much tax we pay- what kind of road we ride on. They play so many games on our lives. We should make atleast one effort to choose who plays those games.

Voting is also a way to honor the history. People fought hard to earn the rights to vote and be involved to make decisions for our mother nation, specially the ladies. So let’s vote to make our voice heard, to choose the right candidate to govern our country so that our Nation prospers. We flourish as the nation flourish and we deteriorate as the nation deteriorate.
